Executive Chef Zach Bell and Taste of the Nation - A Huge Hit!
Taste of the Nation Once Again a Delicious Hit at the Kravis Center
Marie Speed, Boca Magazine
Palm Beach’s Taste of The Nation last night was another taste of why Palm Beach County is a culinary hotbed—and why this event is one of the best of its kind of the year.
The event, which benefits No Kid Hungry, dedicated to eliminating childhood hunger in America by providing breakfasts to underprivileged kids, is held in the spacious, well-appointed pavilion space at The Kravis, with clear signage above each booth, plenty of high top tables and convenient trash bins, wide aisles, music, a foyer with a row of apps and drinks—and best of all, a whole host of some of the most innovative chefs in our area.
The VIP area is limited to VIP guests and top-tier chefs like Clay Conley of Buccan, Lindsay Autry of Regional Public House, and Zach Bell of Addison Reserve, among others. But the room was packed with talent. Chrissy Benoit of Johnny Longboats was serving up mean fish tacos, L’Epicier had these cute avocado tartar cones (made with Yuzo mayo and puffed quinoa) that were ethereal, and Conley was serving a Florida rock shrimp roll on a grilled brioche that you would sell your mother for. Autry retaliated with grilled escarole and spring veggies with a kick, and those were just a few of the goodies. The very hot Dixie Corridor and beyond was brilliantly represented, and the wines were well curated.
In short, this event was exceedingly well-planned, and the food offerings, from Café Boulud to The Cooper to Basque, Temple Orange, Grato, Grandview Market and dozens more, were prepared in earnest, with creativity and flair.
Loved it. Loved the cause and the way the who’s who of Central Palm Beach County rallied to honor it. Well done.
Meet me there next year.
